Pin Wu Ph.D., is a patent agent with limited recognition (37CFR11.9b), helping clients worldwide with patent prosecution services and technology support for patent litigation. Pin’s clients include multinational corporations, research institutes and individual inventors of the following fields:

  • Tools and software for oil and gas production
  • Mechanical devices and systems
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Computer and network systems
  • Micro-electromechanical systems

He is technically proficient and experienced in handling inventions in oil field technology and electromechanical systems. Pin’s patent practice includes original patent application drafting, prosecution, infringement analysis and due diligence investigation.

Prior to joining Gardere, Pin worked as a technology specialist at an intellectual property law firm. He has research experience in mechanical and aerospace engineering, studying aeroelasticity of flexible flapping wings of micro air vehicles (e.g., mechanical hummingbirds). His work includes computer-aided design/prototyping of small-scale mechanical systems, optical experimental technique application and development, control interface and software development, and creating tools for data post-processing and analysis. Pin is highly regarded in his field, as evidenced by invitations to speak at major conferences and write for peer-reviewed publications.

Pin was admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with limited recognition in 2013. He speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin for communication with important foreign parties, such as associates and offices in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.


AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
