Gardere, Arena y Asociados Honored as Leading Law Firm in The Legal 500 Latin America 2014

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP's Mexico office, Gardere, Arena y Asociados S.C., has been recommended by The Legal 500 Latin America 2014 guide as a leading law firm for Competition and Antitrust, Insurance and Tax matters.

Led by Executive Partner Roberto Arena, the Firm's Tax team advises clients on all aspects of tax planning, transfer pricing, administrative representation and litigation, fiscal audits and legal opinions. The publication described Mr. Arena as having "great knowledge of tax matters" and noted that he frequently acts in conjunction with "very able" Partner Fernando Camarena.

The Insurance team and Competition and Antitrust team, both led by Partner Marco Nájera, likewise received high marks from the publication. The Competition and Antitrust team was described as having a "substantial trajectory in competition work, particularly on the merger filings side," and the Insurance team was recognized for handling contentious matters. The publication also noted that Mr. Nájera is "a recognized and capable market player."

"Gardere Arena's consistent recognition in The Legal 500 Latin America is a tribute to our team of talented, business-savvy lawyers and demonstrates their outstanding capabilities across many areas of practice," says Gardere Chair Holland N. O'Neil. "This recognition, as well as the team's recent recognition in Chambers Latin America, is significant because client input is at the core of these rankings."

The Legal 500 Series is published by Legalease Ltd, a worldwide provider of quality legal market information. The publisher compiles the annual directory based largely on peer recommendations and interviews with commercial clients.

Gardere, Arena y Asociados recently received similar recognition in these three key practice areas in Chambers Latin America 2015. (See Gardere's Sept. 30, 2014 press release here.)

Gardere became one of the first U.S. law firms to establish a presence in Mexico City in 1992 and formed Gardere, Arena y Asociados, a joint venture with Arena y Asociados S.C., in 1996. In July 2014, Gardere announced an agreement with Arena y Asociados, to combine all Mexico operations into Gardere, Arena y Asociados, making the firm a wholly owned subsidiary of Gardere (see Gardere's July 28, 2014 press release here).

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
