Maria Fernanda Esquivel Barrero helps foreign and domestic clients with sophisticated business transactions involving finance, antitrust, real estate, energy, mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas, and government contracts and procurement. While most of her clients are privately held corporations, she represents some publicly traded entities, including one in China. Half of her practice is on behalf of corporations in Mexico, and the balance of her clients are overseas or in Central America.

Maria has observed an uptick in corporate acquisitions and energy representations, particularly in the wake of national reform of the energy sector in Mexico. Clients value her bilingual and bicultural abilities and perspectives, as well as her sense of urgency and attention to detail.

In addition to her fluency in Spanish and English, Maria is learning French. She is also seeking admission to practice law in Panama, the nation of her birth.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
