Practice Emphasis
Global climate change is on everyone’s mind – thanks to mountains of publicity, seemingly endless controversy, prophesies of disaster, and, yes, predictions of incredible opportunities for those with the foresight to capitalize on them. But thinking “green” isn’t as simple as following the latest trends. It requires an understanding of profound issues, the wisdom to discern their potential impacts, and the experience to maneuver expertly though challenges that are constrained solely by the human imagination.
For these reasons, Gardere has organized a
Climate Change Task Force
to help its clients adapt to these changing dynamics. The risks associated with climate change have garnered most of the attention – long term risks to health, to the environment, to resources – indeed to the survival of life itself. To be sure, these are important concerns, but they are not the only issues. Climate change presents more immediate concerns to clients and their businesses in everyday life and in essential business planning. The impact of global climate change will be experienced in business and legal affairs long before its effects prove significant elsewhere.
In all these circumstances,
asking the right questions
is more important than presuming to know the right answers. These concerns are best addressed in personal consultations that first yield a clear understanding of your business goals. Armed with an understanding of those goals, Gardere is fully prepared to analyze your needs and to provide services necessary to help you achieve your ends. Problems such as global climate change, which bridge every legal discipline, are exactly the reason our full-service practice was created.
Gardere’s Climate Change Task Force is led by
Richard O. Faulk
, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, and
John S. Gray
, Partner in the Environmental Practice Group. We invite you to contact them or any other members of the task force to discuss your particular concerns and needs in this challenging arena.
