Gardere Associates Receive DVAP's 2014 Outstanding Associate Pro Bono Award

Gardere Trial Associates Diana Cochrane and Sara Nau were honored at the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program Pro Bono Awards Ceremony with the 2014 Outstanding Associate Award for the Women and Children's Program of the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas. Ms. Cochrane and Ms. Nau received the award for their work in obtaining a time-sensitive special immigrant juvenile status for a 17-year-old boy from El Salvador who arrived in Texas via coyote and spent more than 45 days in an INS detention facility.

Now that the deportation proceedings have been dismissed, Ms. Cochrane and Ms. Nau are pursuing a green card application on the boy's behalf while he attends high school in Lewisville, Texas. After graduating from high school, he hopes to attend college to pursue a career in computer science.

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is an organization dedicated to increasing and enhancing pro bono legal services to low-income people in Dallas through the recruitment, training and support of volunteer attorneys. The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid NorthWest Texas.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
