Capitol Inside Names Gardere One of the Top Legal Lobbying Teams in Texas

02.05.15

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is one of the top legal lobbying teams in Texas according to Capitol Inside's recently released "2015 Texas Lobby Power Rankings." This listing marks the third consecutive time that the Austin-based publication has named Gardere one of the top two most powerful law firm lobby teams in the state.

"This is an incredibly strong showing by the team and a demonstration of the hard work and dedication we put forth to serving our client's needs," says Gardere Austin Office Executive Partner Kimberly A. Yelkin. "It is an honor for us to be recognized by Capitol Inside as being one of the best, most experienced and influential law firm lobbying groups in the state."

Capitol Inside is the go-to online publication for Texas political and legislative news. Gardere has earned a place on the publication’s coveted “Texas Lobby Power Rankings” each year since it debuted in 2003.

According to the publication, Gardere’s place near the top of the list was strengthened this year “after adding some muscle with the enlistment of Royce Poinsett.” Mr. Poinsett, who joined the Firm in December 2014, and Partner Mark Vane, a veteran lobbyist, both secured top 30 spots on Capitol Inside’s “Hired Guns” list, which identifies the top lobbyists in the state.

“We appreciate the recognition of the Gardere team, and we are glad we have the excellent, sophisticated clients that allow us to be successful on their behalf in the Texas Legislature,” says Mr. Vane.

Gardere's legal lobbying team is led by Ms. Yelkin and also includes Attorneys Dewey A. Brackin, Edward D. Burbach, Arthur Val Perkins, Nanette K. Beaird and Leslie Ritchie Robnett. In addition to being recognized by Capitol Inside, the team is consistently recognized by Texas Lawyer in its annual "Lobbying Scorecard."

Gardere's Austin-based Government Affairs Practice Group provides legislative, regulatory and legal representation services to private corporations and public entities that are facing issues before state governments. The team is made up of attorneys who have worked both inside and outside government, have extensive experience managing major state agencies, and have held top litigation, legislative and public policy positions.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
