Gardere Participates in 2013 Bike Rides Benefitting the National MS Society: Lone Star Chapter
Each year, Gardere sponsors teams for two of the National MS Society: Lone Star Chapter's annual bike rides, the BP MS 150 from Houston to Austin and the Bike MS: Sam's Club Round Up Ride from Frisco to Fort Worth. Cycling a combined total of 327 miles, attorneys, clients, families and friends make up Team Gardere and the Gardere Gearheads who raise funds to support multiple sclerosis research, programs and services provided by the National MS Society that directly benefit more than nearly 20,000 Texans in 141 counties affected by MS.
On April 20-21, 2013, Team Gardere participated in the 29th annual BP MS 150, making the two-day, 180-mile fundraising cycling ride from Houston to Austin. This marked the team's 13th year of participation. Since the team's inception in 2001, Team Gardere has cumulatively raised more than $1.5 million to support the National MS Society and is a past recipient of the "Mission Possible" award. The team has raised almost $150,000 so far this year.
On May 4-5, 2013, the Gardere Gearheads made the two-day, nearly 150-mile trek from Frisco to Fort Worth at the Bike MS: Sam's Club Round Up Ride. 2013 marked our ninth year of participation. Joining the movement against multiple sclerosis, the team generated nearly $90,000 to directly benefit cutting-edge research, programs, and services that will help find a cure for MS. A past recipient of the "Third Highest Fundraising Team Award," the Gardere Gearheads have raised over $843,000 for the cause since the team's inception in 2006.
