Bill Whitehill has 28 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation and arbitration involving antitrust, banking, contract, development, intellectual property, and ERISA disputes. He also handles complex estate and trust cases.
Clients and Matters
Mr. Whitehill has represented an offshore drilling contractor, a national pipe and fittings foundry, a food products manufacturer, a natural gas producer, and other companies in substantial antitrust claims. Mr. Whitehill has also represented a plaintiff’s class in a successful trial and appeal of substantial pension benefit claims.

- American Airlines, Inc.
Highlights of Mr. Whitehill’s representative matters include:
- Defended the executor of a large multi-million dollar estate and trustee of several large trusts against breach of fiduciary duty and asset misappropriation claims.

Represented large corporate trustee in trust fund distribution dispute.
- Represented Mexican sport club and hotel developer, owner and operator in $30 million breach of contract dispute with U.S. franchisor.
- Defended a large offshore drilling contractor in a nationwide class action claim that it conspired to suppress wages and benefits for its drilling crews
- Defended a major national defense contractor against fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty claims brought by an international aerospace company that sought more than $3 billion in damages. After a jury trial in the U.S. District Court in Amarillo, Texas, obtained a judgment in which the plaintiff recovered only $1 in nominal damages.
- Defended the nation’s largest manufacturer of cast iron drain, waste, and vent pipe, fittings, and couplings against conspiracy to restrain trade, conspiracy to monopolize, attempted monopolization, predatory pricing, and illegal tying claims. The case settled shortly after the client won a summary judgment dismissing all antitrust claims.
- Represented a plaintiffs’ class of pension plan participants against their employer who terminated their pension plan and illegally forfeited their retirement benefits. The class recovered a judgment for more than $14 million.
- Defended a pioneering database content provider against theft of trade secret allegations. The client received a favorable judgment after a two-week trial in which the plaintiff sought an order preventing the client from conducting business.
- Recovered a favorable judgment for a national defense contractor against a vendor who provided defective manufacturing equipment.
